Washington, DC - International regulatory law firm, Keller and Heckman LLP announces that Jim Baller, Sean Stokes, and Casey Lide, of the law firm Baller Stokes & Lide, have joined the firm’s growing Telecommunications law practice as Partners.

“We could not be more excited to welcome these three phenomenal attorneys to our group,” said Wes Wright, Partner in Keller and Heckman’s Telecommunications group. “Jim is a preeminent telecom attorney with decades of experience working with multi-disciplinary teams of legal, financial, accounting, engineering, and other technical experts in helping clients all over the country make advanced communications capabilities available to businesses, institutions, and consumers. I am thrilled he is joining our group, especially knowing what he will bring to our team as we serve our combined client base.  His experience and reputation are unmatched. Jim, Sean, and Casey have shown a clear commitment to working with state and local governments, utilities, cooperatives, and private companies to develop broadband projects across the country and support internal communications needs.  They have been at the forefront of on-the-ground efforts to bridge the digital divide, representing new entrants, nontraditional providers, and public partnerships as they work to deploy essential broadband infrastructure and services. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have Jim, Sean, and Casey join our expanding team and cannot wait to work with them on these important projects.”

Sean Stokes has been involved in numerous broadband projects and cases involving complex factual, legal, and policy issues. He has significant experience developing and negotiating agreements involving access to poles, ducts, conduits, dark fiber, and towers. He is the principal author of an extensive guidebook for the American Public Power Association and the approximately 2,000 public power utilities that it represents. Sean received his J.D. from the National Law Center at George Washington University.

Casey Lide has extensive experience assisting public and private sector clients in complex negotiations and contractual matters, and regularly advises clients on federal and state regulatory compliance and market-entry issues. He received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

With the ever-changing rules and regulations within the telecommunications industry, it is important for our clients to be informed and prepared to adapt to whatever is on the horizon.
