Description

We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our administrative team. The Human Resources Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department, which includes the Director of Administrative Operations, Human Resources and Benefits Manager, Human Resources and Recruitment Manager, and Human Resources Coordinator.

This role is essential in ensuring efficient HR processes, regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service to employees across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive experience for new hires and departing employees.
  • Assist with daily HR administrative operations, including maintaining employee records and managing HR documentation within firm systems.
  • Support HR initiatives and projects focused on process improvements and compliance efforts.
  • Assist in recruitment activities including onsite interview logistics.
  • Assist with preparing annual benefits mailings and maintaining accurate benefits documentation.
  • Update and manage internal firm resources.
  • Coordinate logistics for firm events including catering and invitations.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card expenses for firm accounts.
  • Serve as a backup to the Human Resources Coordinator to administer leave requests for Business Operations Team, ensuring coverage and compliance and monitoring leave balances in HRIS system.
  • Provide daily lunch coverage as well as partial and full-day reception desk coverage during absences of the Receptionist.
  • Collaborate with other administrative departments to promote effective communication and foster a positive, professional work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 1 - 3+ years of experience in a HR role or administrative position.
  • Experience with HRIS systems required; Paylocity experience strongly preferred; Workday familiarity a plus.
  • Law firm experience is a plus.

Hybrid Work Arrangement
This role follows a hybrid work model. Hybrid schedules are determined based on role requirements and business needs. Must be local to Washington, D.C. area.

Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is: $55,000 - $70,000, representing the low and high end of the salary range. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related experience, qualifications, and internal alignment. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental coverage.
