Eric Gu has extensive experience in food and food packaging regulations. He advises clients on food labeling, food ingredient, and food packaging compliance matters. In addition, he counsels clients on regulatory issues with respect to other products, including cosmetics, drug/drug excipients, tobacco and e-cigarettes, and other consumer products. He frequently assists clients in obtaining important pre-market approvals and permits, including approvals of new food packaging substances, the food production license, and the drug excipient registration. Eric’s expansive regulatory experience extends to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asia, the European Union (EU), and the United States (U.S.).

Eric is invited to speak at global conferences and events, and has authored in-depth analysis articles on regulatory issues, which provide the industry with regulatory updates necessary to keep businesses moving forward.

  • Assisted numerous multinational companies in attaining food packaging approvals in China
  • Assisted a U.S. food additive manufacturer in obtaining a food production license (for food additives) in China
  • Assisted a U.S. company in obtaining the drug excipient registration in China

  • Assisted an Asian company in obtaining a favorable opinion from U.S. FDA on process of recycled plastics
