David Fischer Quoted in Inside TSCA Article on EPA Bandwidth

Keller and Heckman Counsel David Fischer was quoted in the Inside TSCA article, “EPA Poised To Release Final TSCA Evaluations To Meet Settlement Deadline.” The article indicates that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to release multiple final phthalate risk evaluations and the final 1,3-butadiene risk evaluation later this month.

The next deadline requires EPA to have seven final evaluations completed in December 2025, while the remaining evaluations need to be finalized by the end of December 2026.

David acknowledged that “the reason that EPA is not getting to all the other things on their plate,” such as drafts for the five chemicals the Biden EPA prioritized in December 2023 or final scoping for the five chemicals the Biden EPA prioritized in December 2024, is because “there’s only so much bandwidth.”
