David Fischer Quoted in Chemical Watch News Article on Petition to Amend TSCA PFAS Reporting Rule
Keller and Heckman Counsel David Fischer was quoted in the Chemical Watch News article, “Industry coalition petitions EPA to amend TSCA PFAS reporting rule.” The article notes that a recent petition to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), submitted by David on behalf of a coalition of chemical companies, urges EPA to amend the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) PFAS reporting rule to include categorical exemptions and production volume thresholds typically included in chemical reporting rules.
According to David, the petition is an effort to try to get more clarity around EPA’s earlier announcement on PFAS. It is also meant to help the agency, he continued, by providing a rationale for the requested changes to the PFAS reporting rule, along with precise edits to the regulation itself.
David said he anticipates that EPA “would be receptive” to most, if not all, of the changes requested in the coalition petition. “If you want to diminish burden, this is how you do it.”
