Beyond the CAF II Auction: FCC Proposes a $20.6 Billion Rural Development Opportunity Fund

Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, and Executive Branch departments are aligned in promoting broadband Internet access service in underserved and unserved communities, particularly in rural areas.  Steady advances in technology and a growing ecosystem of suppliers increasingly support broadband deployment.

Keller and Heckman LLP has developed a short white paper that summarizes the core elements of the FCC’s proposed $20.6 billion Rural Development Opportunity Fund, focusing on the proposed Phase 1 auction, and a webinar that explains and illustrates the descending clock reverse auction procedures that the FCC is proposing for the Phase 1 RDOF auction.  Keller and Heckman also offers a regulatory compliance checklist geared to emerging broadband services providers.
