Keller and Heckman is pleased to announce the Practical Food Law Seminar scheduled 25 – 26 October 2017 in Brussels, Belgium. This conference will provide members of the food industry (particularly those in Europe) with a detailed understanding of the applicable statutory and regulatory framework in the United States for foods (including dietary supplements). The course will focus on food safety, labeling and advertising, and FDA enforcement capabilities. The seminar presenters will also contrast the U.S. regulatory requirements with the comparable provisions in the E.U.
Food safety provisions will include:
- Food contamination
- Foreign objects
- GRAS ingredients
- Pesticide residues
- Requirements under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
Labeling and advertising provisions will include:
- Mandatory labeling elements
- Promoting products via health, nutrient content, structure/function and ingredient quality claims
FDA Enforcement topics will include:
- FDA's inspection authority
- Regulation of imported food
- Enforcement tools to address violations
