Keller and Heckman, founded in 1962, has a broad practice in the areas of regulatory law, public policy, and litigation, serving both domestic and international clients. Our firm is a pioneer in the use of interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving. Since 1971, we have had an in-house scientific staff that works closely with the firm's attorneys on matters of technical complexity. Many of our attorneys also have government experience and expertise in multiple areas of the law.

1962
Founded in Washington, DC by Joseph E. Keller and Jerome H. Heckman
1971
Hired our first in-house scientist, we pioneered the interdisciplinary problem-solving approach of combining law and science
1992
Opened our first international office in Brussels, Belgium to accommodate our clients’ increasing need for representation in the European Union
1994
Founding partner, Joseph E. Keller, passed-away. The same year, Mr. Keller’s alma mater, the University of Dayton, dedicated its new law school building the Joseph E. Keller Hall
2001
We expanded our U.S. prescence to the west coast opening an office in San Francisco, California
2004
Client demands continued to increase especially into the Asian markets; therefore, we opened an office in Shanghai, China
2012
We met an exciting milestone celebrating our 50th Anniversary
2013
Founding partner, Jerome H. Heckman, passed-away. Mr. Heckman was one of the plastic industry’s most influential people and was an inductee into the Packaging Hall of Fame at Michigan State University
2014
We continue to expand opening a second European office in Paris, France
