Green Chemistry Legislation's Worldwide Advance for New and Existing Chemicals

As Congress continues to struggle with a crafting a workable TSCA reform bill in the United States, a multitude of other countries and jurisdictions, including Australia, Canada, China, the EU, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, have enacted chemical control legislation, proposed new legislation, or have amended their existing legislation to incorporate green chemistry principles. Effectively navigating the patchwork created by these activities is challenging and is best accomplished by using a multidisciplinary approach that involves addressing both legal and scientific issues. Although these activities create obstacles and barriers to entry, they also present significant opportunities for forward thinking and innovative companies and technologies.
