Keller and Heckman Partner Sheila Millar was quoted in the Packaging Digest article, “CPSC Firings Spark Pharmaceutical Packaging Concerns.” The article questions what the firing of three democratic members of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) by President Trump means for the future of consumer protection regulations.
According to Sheila, the CPSC’s child-resistant packaging requirements will remain unchanged. “Eliminating requirements on child-resistant closures would require a statutory change, and I think that’s highly unlikely,” she said. “Kids are the leading edge both of federal and state legislative policy, so I don’t think there’s any appetite for eliminating child-resistant closure obligations.”
