Keller and Heckman Earns First Time Privacy and Data Protection Ranking and Continued Tier 1 Recognition for Food and Drug Practice in the 2022 edition of The Legal 500 EMEA

The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Guide continues to recognize Keller and Heckman within the Tier 1 category of EU Regulatory: Food and includes the firm in the EU Regulatory: Privacy and Data Protection category for the first time in its 2022 edition. These rankings reflect the firm’s strength in EU regulatory law and commitment to strategic growth to support the evolving needs of its clients.

The firm’s Privacy, Data Security, and Digital Media practice earned a spot in The Legal 500’s Data Protection and Privacy category in the Belgium jurisdiction this year. The recent arrival of Peter Craddock, who heads the group, broadened the practice which the Guide recognizes for advising “a wide and growing range of tech and pharma clients on day-to-day data protection and compliance issues, as well as on complex regulatory aspects of projects, including cross-border data transfers, personal data, and generic data as a product.” With a background in software development, Peter has built a reputation in the EU, and Belgium in particular, as a pragmatic and creative counselor and litigator involved in some of the most cutting-edge work on digital advertising, international data transfers, and on the limits to the powers of data regulators. The international team also represents clients in proceedings before courts and regulatory authorities and on matters related to cybersecurity, e-commerce and software contracting.

Keller and Heckman LLP has once again received a Tier 1 ranking in the Belgium jurisdiction for its internationally-recognized Food and Drug Practice which provides representation and legal advice to food and food packaging clients, including trade associations, on a comprehensive array of legal and regulatory issues. The team promotes, protects, and defends products made by the spectrum of industries regulated under national, international, and EU food law. They routinely advise the world’s largest and most prestigious food manufacturing, food packaging, food processing, recycled products, and waste conglomerates. The group also assists with market access for novel food items and offers expertise in matters concerning biocidal products regulation and sustainable products. The team is led by Rachida Semail, who is recognized in the Guide with testimonials noting her ability to “translate the company strategy to the necessary steps to allow business coherence in and outside of Europe, which is key for global food grades.”

With offices strategically positioned in Brussels, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Shanghai, and Boulder, Keller and Heckman LLP is internationally recognized as a pioneer in the use of interdisciplinary approaches to legal issues. The firm has had an in-house scientific staff since 1971. Serving both domestic and international clients with a broad practice in the areas of regulatory law, public policy, and litigation, the firm helps the world's most vital businesses achieve their objectives.
