Greg Clark, Iris Camacho-Ramos, and Justin Roberts Quoted in Bloomberg Law Article on Government Shutdown Impact on New Chemicals Reviews

Keller and Heckman Partner Greg Clark and Scientists Iris Camacho-Ramos and Justin Roberts were quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “EPA to Stop Reviewing New Chemicals Requests During Shutdown.” The article refers to Keller and Heckman’s October 1, 2025 TSCA 30/30 webinar, where Justin explained that work related to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) “effectively comes to a halt” during the government shutdown.

Justin noted that EPA staff will be inundated when they return. Echoing this comment, Iris added, “There’s a queue of cases that need to be restarted, so it typically takes some time to get back to speed.”

Additionally, Greg spoke to the severity of the situation if the shutdown persists for a long-term span: “If the shutdown goes on for an extended period of time,” he said, “it will significantly and negatively impact chemical companies trying to get new chemicals to market.”
