Counsel Lauren Gates Quoted in ChemicalWatch Article on TSCA Risk Evaluation Framework Rule Timeline

Keller and Heckman Counsel Lauren Gates was quoted in the ChemicalWatch article, “TSCA risk evaluation ʻframework’ rule goes to interagency review as deadlines loom.” 

The article explores how the revised framework rule, along with recent court decisions affecting the TSCA program, could influence EPA's approach to evaluating existing chemicals and implementing future regulatory actions.

Commenting on the rulemaking timeline, Lauren noted that it is “unlikely that the finalised TSCA framework rule will impact any of the remaining consent decree chemicals due to the timing constraints." She further explained that the rule's review process “has been pushed back too far to implement in a meaningful way before 12 February 2027, unless EPA seeks an extension of the remaining deadlines."
