Hazel O'Keeffe, Partner, resident in the firm’s Brussels office, counsels European Union (EU) and international clients on the regulation of food-contact materials, materials in contact with drinking water, packaging waste and biocidal products in the EU. Ms. O'Keeffe has particular expertise with respect to the principle of mutual recognition, and in advising how this principle can be applied, in practice, to facilitate the free movement of goods throughout the EU, the European Economic Area (EEA) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries.

Mark Thompson, Partner, resident in the firm’s Washington, DC office, advises a wide array of businesses and trade associations on global compliance requirements applicable to finished foods, food additives, food packaging materials, cosmetics, industrial chemicals, and associated labeling in Asia, the U.S., and the European Union. From 2009 through 2016, Mr. Thompson was based in Keller and Heckman’s Shanghai Representative office.
