Join us in a discussion of frameworks for addressing recycled plastic in food packaging in China, the U.S., and the EU. With an increasing demand for greener packaging solutions, the interest in recycled plastics for food packaging is growing. We will explore how these jurisdictions address the safety and compliance of these products from the standpoint of source materials and recycling processes. The discussion will include an overview of imminent changes in the EU with the new Recycled Plastics Regulation (scheduled to come into force in the coming months), which will overhaul the regulatory framework applicable to plastic recycling processes in the EU.

During the webinar, the speakers will address the following:

  • Overview of the applicable regulatory regimes in China, the U.S., and the EU
  • Source control, contamination of the recycling stream, and other considerations of particular relevance to recycled materials and articles in all three jurisdictions
  • A brief overview of forthcoming changes in the EU for plastic recycling processes, notably regarding concepts that will be introduced, authorization requirements, and the particular provisions applicable to novel technologies
