Partner Tony Pavel to Present at the 2025 CHPA Regulatory, Scientific, and Quality (RSQ) Conference

Keller and Heckman Partner Tony Pavel will present at the 2025 Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) Regulatory, Scientific, and Quality (RSQ) Conference, to be held in North Bethesda, Maryland on September 9-10, 2025. 

Tony will participate in the panel “Color, Flavor, Function: FDA’s Shifting Stance on Additives,” which will delve into FDA’s announcement regarding the voluntary phase-out of FD&C colors from the food supply by the end of 2026. This session will explore the implications of this announcement, which does not equate to a ban, as the FDA has not taken regulatory actions to make such a limitation mandatory. Panelists will also examine FDA’s recent draft guidance on replacing colors in drug products and the confusion around the agency’s intent, as medicines were initially included in the voluntary phase-out, but later clarifications limit the scope to food. This expert panel will unpack these developments and what they mean for the future of FD&C colors in dietary supplements and OTC drugs.
