Partner David Ettinger and Associate Sharon Tian to Present at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China Meeting
Keller and Heckman Partner David Ettinger and Associate Sharon Tian will speak at the Food Regulatory Trends in China: Compliance Priorities for 2026 with a Focus on Online Advertising meeting, hosted by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, to be held in Beijing, China and virtually on June 11, 2026.
During the session, David and Sharon will begin by speaking on the topic, “Overall compliance checkpoints for marketing foods in China.” This portion of the presentation will outline the core compliance considerations for companies operating in the Chinese market, including requirements governing food ingredients and additives, product clearance pathways, applicable product standards, labeling and advertising rules, cross border e commerce (CBEC) policy, and additional obligations specific to imported foods.
They will then address the topic, “Emerging enforcement trends for online food advertising in China,” examining how the recent high profile health supplement scandal has intensified regulatory scrutiny. Their discussion will explore how this incident aligns with broader enforcement priorities related to online food sales, health supplement marketing practices, and the government’s heightened focus on false or misleading advertising claims.
Finally, the speakers will provide guidance on the topic, “2026 compliance readiness for food companies.” This segment will highlight key regulatory developments expected to shape compliance planning in the coming year, including the implications of GAC Decree No. 280, anticipated updates to food labeling requirements, and other regulatory changes that companies should prepare for as they assess their operational and marketing strategies for 2026.
