Japanese companies that import chemicals and chemical products into the EU are required to comply with the Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and Regulation on Classification, Labeling and Packaging (CLP). Revisions that will significantly impact the legal requirements for and marketability of raw chemicals and products containing them are currently being made to both REACH and CLP.
Ales Bartl, lead Partner of Keller and Heckman's REACH Chemical Control Practice Group, provided invaluable information to Japanese companies looking to sell REACH-compliant products to the EU.
