James Votaw was a featured speaker at "Industry Briefing: PFAS Regulation" on September 27, 2018 at the US Chamber of Commerce Global Energy Institute. The briefing was held by the US Chamber f Commerce, National Association of Manufacturers, and the Responsible Science Policy Coalition to address the regulation of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl chemical substances (PFAS) and the potential impact on industry. PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals used in manufacturing and consumer products that are persistent in the environment and of growing interest and debate due to potential human health concerns.
