Herb Estreicher Quoted in Article on the Unlikely Reform of TSCA
Keller and Heckman Partner Herb Estreicher was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Jackson Says Congress Unlikely to Reform Toxic Substances Control Act in Near Future.” The article discusses how Congressional reform of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) is unlikely in the near future, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson said during a March 28 forum.
While public safety and consumer protection issues, as well as a growing level of uncertainty about chemicals in consumer products, highlight the need for comprehensive reform of TSCA, Jackson said doing so in the current Congress would be difficult. The original legislation was enacted in 1976.
