Office on a broad range of consumer protection regulatory issues.  Candidates should expect to handle advertising, privacy, and product safety matters.  Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Product Safety Commission experience preferred. Successful candidate should be knowledgeable about federal and state rulemakings, enforcement proceedings, and compliance counseling.  Candidate should have a long-term interest in a collegial D.C. practice and be comfortable with both technical regulatory issues and broader policy matters.  We require strong academic credentials, excellent analytical writing, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.  Ability to relate well with a variety of people is important.

Office on food, food additive, food packaging, and other FDA regulatory matters.  Experience with FDA rulemaking and regulatory proceedings or those of other federal agencies (such as EPA, USDA, CPSC, FTC or TTB) strongly preferred.  Strong academic credentials, excellent analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to assume immediate responsibility are required.

Title: Food and Drug Chemist for our Washington, DC Office

We are seeking a Chemist for a non-laboratory position to work in our Washington, D.C. Office. This individual will work closely with our attorneys and other staff scientists to help clients determine the regulatory status of their products in accordance with applicable food, drug, and medical device regulations. This individual also will work as a team with our attorneys to file petitions with regulatory agencies in the United States (FDA/EPA) and their sister agencies throughout the world. This is not an intellectual property position.

The ideal candidate will be able to interpret complex analytical data and should have a strong proficiency in mathematics. Expertise in any area of non-theoretical chemistry will be considered, though familiarity with polymer chemistry and 5+ years of experience is highly desired. A background in chemicals or the packaging industry, and experience with FDA regulations, would be a plus. Must be able to multi-task, work effectively with others, and write clearly. Graduate Degree in Chemistry is required; Ph.D. preferred but not required.
