Title: Scientist for our Brussels, Belgium Office

Description: We are seeking a Scientist for a non-laboratory position to work in our Brussels, Belgium Office. This position is focused on packaging and packaging issues. Responsibilities include assisting with strategizing and drafting of regulatory opinions, searching technical databases, attending client meetings, as well as preparing technical aspects of food-contact submissions for filing with agencies in the EU and U.S., e.g., the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Graduate Degree in Chemistry or equivalent is required. A working knowledge of organic, polymer, paper, and analytical chemistry, and statistics is desired. This individual should have a strong background in plastics and/or chemicals, preferably in the area of food packaging and food, to assist attorneys and other staff scientists in servicing a broad range of companies that make products for use with food, food contact materials, drugs, and medical devices. Experience with REACH or other chemical control laws and/or facility with IUCLID is a plus.
Strong writing skills and command of English and at least one other European language are required.
