We are seeking a Food Packaging, Environment (Chemicals), and Waste Associate to work in our Brussels, Belgium Office.

Requirements include excellent academic records with, preferably, a postgraduate degree in European Law, a qualified lawyer in the EU/UK, fluency and excellent writing skills in English, fluency or good working knowledge of another EU language, preferably in German, Spanish or Italian, scientific background or interest in science, and long term commitment. 

Personal skills required include strong analytical ability with attention to detail, a self-starter, hard-working, willing to learn and grow, strong sense of responsibility, as well as ability to work independently and in a team on multiple client priorities, and desire to achieve the best possible results.

Tasks include legal research, monitoring and collaboration with the firm’s offices worldwide, analysis of legal issues, and drafting summaries and legal opinion letters.

Title: Food and Drug Associate for our Washington, D.C. Office

We are seeking a talented junior level associate attorney with up to 3 years of experience to join our growing Food and Drug regulatory practice in our Washington, D.C. Office.  Work will include advising clients on food, food additive, food labeling, food packaging, and food safety matters, establishing appropriate regulatory status for various ingredients, and other FDA and USDA regulatory matters. 

In addition to FDA and USDA experience, experience with Agency rulemaking proceedings and familiarity with matters involving CBP, FTC, or TTB are desirable.  Strong academic credentials; excellent analytical, research, writing, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; and the ability to assume immediate responsibility are required.  Due to the technical nature of the practice, an undergraduate degree or some experience in a scientific field (biology, chemistry, mathematics, or engineering) will be helpful, but is not required.

A desire to learn, and an ability to manage multiple client priorities and take direction are critical.  Successful associates will be given significant client responsibility early on, including direct client contact.  The position requires collaboration across all firm offices on challenging and interesting work involving cutting-edge regulatory and health and safety issues while working in a collegial, team-based atmosphere.
