Abstract:

Industrial Engineers are constantly searching for ways to do things better. Sometimes, they find ways to do things really differently, too! In Technically Legal: Professional Practice in Engineering and Law, Food and Drug Attorney and Industrial Engineer Daniel Rubenstein explores the many ways in which core Industrial Engineering principles find real-world applications in unexpected ways, including the Practice of Law. Mr. Rubenstein will discuss how the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates food and food-contact materials, and how principles of Industrial Engineering play an important role in ensuring the continued safety, quality, productivity, and regulatory compliance of food companies and their suppliers.
