The U.S. Commercial Service to the EU will host a REACH webinar on May 12, 2011 for U.S. exporters of articles (electronics, automotive, aerospace, healthcare, textiles, furniture, etc) that contain Candidate List substances. A notification to the European Chemicals Agency is due 1 June 2011.

REACH notification poses many questions for companies. For this webinar, the U.S. Commercial Service will call on the expertise of the international law firm Keller and Heckman. Their lawyers and scientists will address the following issues:

• How does the notification process work?
• Which products and substances are affected?
• What information needs to be provided for notification?
• Is there a way to be exempted from REACH notification?
• What are the steps to be taken if a company is affected by REACH notification?
