Date: Jan 14, 2005
On Friday (January 7, 2005), the FCC's Broadband over Power Line ("BPL") Report and Order (dated October 28, 2004) was published in the Federal Register. Most of the new rules will become effective 30 days thereafter (i.e., February 6, 2005). Reconsideration petitions must be filed by Monday, February 7, 2005.
Sections 15.615(a)-(e) of the rules contain information collection requirements and will not become effective until approved by OMB. These sections pertain to (i) the Access BPL Database, (ii) BPL provider response to interference complaints, and (iii) the requirement to consult in advance with public safety users. The FCC will publish a document in the Federal Register announcing the effective date for those sections.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss Reconsideration issues, please feel free to contact Tom Magee at 202-434-4128 or email@example.com.
