Chemist with strong background in plastics, chemicals, or packaging industries wanted for responsible non-laboratory position in our Washington, D.C Office. This individual will assist our attorneys and other staff scientists in servicing a broad range of companies that make products for use with food, drugs, and medical devices. Position requires a creative approach to analytical chemistry problems, the ability to write clearly and deal with people effectively. A working knowledge of statistics and organic, polymer, paper and analytical chemistry is desired. Familiarity with government health and safety regulations (particularly FDA and EPA) is a plus. Graduate Degree in Chemistry is required, Ph.D. degree preferred or equivalent experience in industry or government. Salary dependent upon qualifications.

Title: FIFRA Scientist

Qualified regulatory scientist needed in our Washington, D.C. Office to assist attorneys in pesticide regulation issues, including the submission of registration applications and petitions, for a broad range of pesticide manufacturing and trade association clients. This individual will assist clients in strategic planning and execution of pesticide regulation projects and advise clients on regulatory matters. Experience in the FIFRA and state pesticide registration processes and knowledge of regulatory programs are required. Relevant experience would include work with FIFRA, FFDCA, FQPA, TSCA and laws governing chemical and pesticide regulation. Significant contact with regulatory officials and clients is helpful; chemist or toxicologist is preferred but not required. We require strong academic credentials, excellent analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills, along with an attention to detail and the ability to assume immediate responsibility. Ability to relate well with a variety of people is also important. Occasional travel and speaking opportunities.
